Saturday 27th JuneĀ  saw Jan and I , and Dennis settiung off in grim looking weather to visit Grimsargh, home to Bill and Barbara Squires and venue for the Field Day event being hosted by his village.

This annual event is known amongst the GNWesters due to the great buffet put on for the participants on Goldwings by Barbara Squires.

Despite the weather forecast for the morning we were not rained on while on the way and with Den in the lead we took the scenic route from Warrington across country to Rivington Little Barn, where we stopped for refreshments and loos. (more…)

Jan and I recently came back from a very successful trip to the Mosel Valley in Western Germany, accompanied by 9 other GoldWings of 2 and 3 wheel persuasion.

The tour was very ably led by Stuart Ormorod, and the group consisted of both experienced and novice European tourers. This alone made the whole experience a pleasure both during the day when visiting the sights and doing the rides, and socially at night chatting in the hotelĀ  over a few drinks. (more…)

Knutsford Honda is a new solus Honda dealer situated on the A50 Road at High Legh and on Friday 5th June they held an open evening with buffet at their new premises.

Kevin and Sandra, Nigel and Joanna, and Janet and I went along for a look at the new premises and to see what was going on at this new premises, particularly as GoldWings were particularly welcomed by the owner. (more…)

Following a last minute change of plan due to the low number of Wingers available for a big planned ride, we had a change of plan to ride three of the reservoirs in North Wales, Vyrnwy. Bala Lake and Brenig.

As it turned out only Dennis, Jan and I were able to go, but what a wonderful day we had, particularly in riding new roads.

I had decided to change the roads normally used for getting to Vyrnwy and found some new roads on the maps to try, so careful plotting (more…)
