Blackpool Light Parade 2009

My trike on its last event in my hands

Yet another Blackpool Light Parade passed off successfully.

Jan and I visited to 2009 Blackpool Light Parade and stayed for the weekend at Pontins again. We travelled up on the Friday with Dave and Elaine on their new 1800 on their first visit to the BLP. We have previously been to all bar one of the light parades so were quite seasoned campaigners.

We knew that numbers would be down somewhat as the whole event was down scaled compared to the BLP of 2008, but I was pleasantly surprised by the number that did turn up despite some nasty rumours (more…)

Treffen Report from a non-GWOCGB visitor

"The odd bike"

Over the August Bank-Holiday weekend Jan and I decided to visit the British Treffen at Kelso.

Kelso is a wonderful town in the Scottish Borders region which has an agricultural showground very close to the town – in fact on the opposite side of a river from the town and with a 5-10 minute walk from the town centre you can be in the centre of the showground. This is perfect for those who dont camp and want to stay in hotels and B&Bs. (more…)
