Scarborough Light Parade 2009

Daylight lineup on the prom

Daylight lineup on the prom

Only a week after the Blackpool Light Parade 2009 the Yorkshire Wings Region put on their Scarborough Light Parade, with fund raising for the Lifeboat Appeal.

Accompanied by Nigel and Jo, Jan and I set off from North Wales early Friday morning to call at Keighley, so that I could collect my new toy from Barry’s place. We then continued in nice weather across to Scarborough to Cayton Bay Caravan Park, the main stopping point for the Wingers who booked caravan accommodation for the event. This was a new venture for the organisers and I can applaud them as the venue was very good indeed. (more…)

It is now 12 months since that inaugural meeting at The Chase when GoldWingers from the region were invited to attend to discuss the formation of a new club in North Wales.

A view down to the Mosel River

So, would you like to take your GoldWing abroad to Germany in company – yet have freedom to do your own thing too?  Here’s your opportunity to ride as part of a group of Wingers with the same intention.  Newcomers to continental touring are especially welcome and you don’t need to know anyone else who is coming – we’ll all be good friends in no time at all.

All types of GoldWings are welcome too, including combinations and trikes. The Mosel is only one day’s ride from the Ferry, so it’s an ideal way to start touring abroad – although of course experienced tourers are welcome too.
