Hunstanton Light Parade

by Marilyn, John and Kidogo

We kicked off our triking season this year by joining in the Hunstanton Light Parade. We opted to stay in a Travelodge, since the Caravan Park with which Norfolk Wings had negotiated a good rate wanted far too much to accommodate Kidogo. John searched the web and found some dog-friendly eating places in the area, so we were prepared.

As expected, our journey there was very mixed weather. We always seem to find rain wherever we go, and we found plenty on the M6 (does it always rain over Birmingham?). But the wind had dried us out by the time (more…)

Team from Goldwings North West In RBLR1000

Adrian - looking for your sponsorship

The RBLR1000 rally takes place on June 19-20 with a team from GoldWings North West taking part. Members Adrian Cresswell, Dave & Toni Bayliss, Barry Halley, Ted Rogerson, James Melia, and Steve Fox have all registered for the 1000 mile in 24 hours ordeal.

Team leader Adrian Cresswell, soon to be known as Iron Butt Crezz, is asking for your financial support in sponsoring the team. They are all personally responsible for their own fuel and food costs during the 24 hour rally period, this is plus the time and mileage taken to (more…)

Wings Egg Run – Sunday 28th March 2010

The muster point - Chester Harley Davidson.

While many Bikers in the North West supported one of the most popular Egg Runs – The Wirral Egg Run, some of us decided to support the other Egg Run being held on the same day – The Wings Egg Run to RAF Cosford, which support the R.A.F. Association.

This year the starting point chosen for us to head for was the Chester Harley Davidson Shop at Little Stanney.

The arrangements were for us to meeting up before 9.30 at this location and make our way down to Meole Brace Park and Ride, Shrewsbury which (more…)

A Ride to Wootton Bassett for Afghan Heroes Charity

(excuse the quality)

I recently did the trip to Wootton Bassett to support the Afghan Heroes Charity and to show support for the people of Wootton Bassett. I was one of four GoldWings from the Staffordshire area who went to meet up with the other 10,000 plus bikers expected (more…)

The Raven Cafe, Part II

The Raven Cafe entrance

Following on from my recent article about the Raven Cafe at Prees Heath, I have had cause to revisit the premises so I can now add Part II to the Blog.

Following the R.A.F.A. Egg Run, which finished at RAF Cosford, a group of 6 bikes left the aircraft museum at about 2.10 pm after leaving our donated Easter Eggs with the RAF staff at the event. (more…)

The Raven Cafe, Prees Heath

Where The Raven Cafe is found

Where is it?

It is time that I add a few words about a place to eat for the Bikers in general and Wingers in particular (well-known for their liking of food) – The Raven Cafe at Prees Heath.

Following the Stoke Egg Run, a few of us participants decided to stop at the Raven Cafe at Prees Heath, following a recommendation by Nigel and Steve C-P. (more…)

Stoke Egg Run – Sunday 21st March 2010

Early morning start for Nigel

An early meet up at the Beaufort

What a great day was had at the Stoke Egg Run by members of GoldWings North Wales and many other riders.

Congratulations to the organisers of this run which as far as I’m concerned went off extremely well.

It was well managed and the route was interesting and varied. I don’t know the final (more…)

Blackpool Light Parade 2010 – Accommodation details

On the BLP

At last the details are available for the Goldwing Light Parade accommodation at Blackpool.

You are advised to book early if you intend to go to this event as by all accounts the accommodation is superior to Pontins by a good margin.

Please visit the website for the Goldwing Light Parade.

Another Tweenie at the Tudor Rose

The usual suspects

Another Tweenie has been held at the Tudor Rose on 27th February. This followed the very successful one held at the beginning of February.

This Tweenie was unable to attract as many attendees as the last one, but in its defence there were competing events (more…)
