Llandudno Christmas Parade

Trevor on his Trike

Trevor on his Trike

Well one thing is for sure – the weather was nowhere near as good as our light parade weekend, but still quite a few members turned up including Trevor (minus Jean) who took nearly three hours to get there and never put his feet down once throughout the whole journey and the parade – what a rider!

Despite a cold day, Nigel & Jo, Dave T, Dave & Lynn C, Kevin, Alun & Sheila, Daz & Jan plus Steve Machin turned up with Q and myself in the car. I have just recently been bitten by a lion on the leg at work, so I can’t ride yet until it heals – occupational hazard working at a pet shop I guess.

Parade security

Hired security for parade

Security was really strict this year, but it pays to have good security at events so everybody can enjoy themselves without anything to worry about – we may look into hiring them for future monthly meetings to keep things happy.

Many people dressed up for the event and despite me arriving late it looked like a lot of effort went into the parade with decorated floats etc.

GoldWings North Wales got a really good mention about the excellent fund-raising we done this year as well.

So many of you made such a really great effort getting your bikes looking festive, and Nigel has put lots of pictures on this website (as usual) along with a video taken by Jo who walked the event with Q and I. The video is on YouTube, but you can also watch it at the bottom of this article.

All just so she could get video footage for all of you Blog readers to enjoy, so don’t forget to feel free and let both of them know how much you enjoy the website – as it hardly gets said and does take a lot of time.

What’s next this year?

Big Santa on Big Wing

There will be a toy run or two to do (weather permitting) and then our Christmas meal – so, until then, enjoy the salt free roads and be good for this guy or you will be sorry!…Ed

  2. Hi All
A special well done to Joanna for her video footage, Joanna you always do a great job and you are appreciated by us (Sheila and Alun) you make us and our Goldwing look good :) Well done to all of you who attended and dressed your Goldwing s up and Trevor Durbar from Wolverhampton and Daz and Jan Wakefield from Stoke on Trent, what dedicated riders you are coming so far and taking part in the parade. All who attended made a very good effort to dress up their Goldwing. The biggest thank we could have received, came over the sound address system as we passed the Town Hall THANKING the GOLDWING RIDERS for their LLP ( and the tremendous cheers from the crowds), show and the thousands raised for the Llandudno R L N I , it made us feel so proud that we were part of Goldwing s of North Wales who had joined many Goldwing riders in October to do the LLP for the people of Llandudno and raise money for a worthwhile charity R L N I and enjoy ourselves at the same time. The Cheers and warm welcome that only we 6 bikes and 1 trike got from the crowds was well worth us going, it showed they remembered us :) Keep up the good work all you riders out there and have a great Christmas and lets see what the new year holds for us.Sheila Atkins
