Appleyard’s GoldWing Open Day Cancelled

We’ve just heard that Appleyard’s popular annual GoldWing Open Day – due to be held this coming Sunday (24th March 2013) – has been cancelled due to the bout of bad weather which has suddenly engulfed the North of England.

There is no word of a re-arrangement yet – their website does use the word cancelled rather than postponed – but I’d be surprised if they don’t try to hold it once better weather returns.

History

Every year just before Easter, Appleyards hold a GoldWing Open Day at their Keighley showroom – where they invite customers and members of any GoldWing Club to join them for a free lunch (£1 donation to charity) and, providing the weather is good (!), they normally expect up to 500 GoldWings to show up.

In 2012, they announced a new feature, the GoldWing Club Village:

“We feel its an ideal place to help you in promoting your upcoming Light Parade or other GoldWing event….. and if you are one of the recognised clubs active on the GoldWing scene in the UK, what better place to meet your members or promote your club to the wider GoldWing audience.”

  2. Thanks for that Dave, but I suspect you mean May 5th?
